The main reason we choose Florida as our travel stop was to let the kids experience all there is to Disney World. Yesterday we made our first trip to Magic Kingdom and I am glad to say it went really well!
I was a bit nervous on how Sophia would do with the characters. She usually doesn’t respond very well to people in costumes trying to interact with her. We quickly found Mickey and Minnie Mouse when we arrived and it went okay, but not great. She needed mom and dad by her side.
We didn’t get to the park until about 3pm, so we didn’t have a ton of time. We figured it would be best to take it easy the first day. So our plan was to arrive at three so we could stay for the light parade and fireworks. I must say, touring a theme park is much easier and less stressful when you don’t have to worry about seeing everything in one day.
We only managed to hit a few rides. I think the “It’s a Small World” ride was the kids favorite. Sophie met Tinker Bell and Periwinkle fairies. Then we had to find a spot on Main Street for the light parade and fireworks. They were pretty awesome and something I’m hoping the kids will remember. We decided to get the seasonal season passes to Disney. It is about a two hour drive for us, but I know we will be back. Both kids seemed to really like it and our first Disney experience went really well!
