Our Disney exploring continues to Epcot

Although we still have a decent amount of stuff we haven’t done in the Magic Kingdom, we decided to change gears a little bit and visit Epcot.

Epcot is very different than the Magic Kingdom.  It is much more educational and there are not nearly as many small kid rides.  It is twice the size of Magic Kingdom, so that means more walking.  So we weren’t sure exactly how much Sophie and Sawyer would enjoy it.  Luckily Disney has added more small kid features at Epcot than they use to have.

For starters, they now have lots of Disney characters available to meet.  It is amazing how thing have changed.  It use to be all about the rides at Disney, but not it’s all about who you meet.

Sophie and Sawyer have been enjoying getting all of the Disney characters to sign their autograph books.

Instead of randomly running into characters throughout the park, now they have scheduled appearances by Mickey and his friends.  And you can’t just take a picture with them, you have to get their autographs!

In Epcot Sophie and Sawyer met Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, Chip, Dale, and Princess Aurora.  Luckily most of them were in one central location so we didn’t have to wait long.

Beth and I both enjoyed Epcot quite a bit.  They have lots of educational rides.  Plus we visited on a great day where the average wait times were only about 5-15 minutes.  So we were able to trade the kids off and do an adult ride or two.  Unfortunately most of the educational parts of Epcot are too far above Sophie and Sawyer, but if you throw in an occasional ride and character, they do just fine.
