We finally made our first visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios is basically Disney’s answer to Universal Studios. They were both built at roughly the same time and they both are centered around rides and shows based on movies.
Of all of the parks, this is the one that has the least amount of stuff for our kids to do. In fact, we were at Hollywood Studios for almost a full day and the kids didn’t go on a single ride. The only ride that is really suited for kids is Toy Story Mania. But when we got there, the wait was about an hour and a half and the fast passes were being given out for 9pm. We decided to save it for another day.
Hollywood Studios might be lacking on rides but they have some great shows. Sophie and Sawyer really enjoyed a Disney Junior stage show. Plus we saw a Broadway style Beauty and the Beast show, musical Journey of the Little Mermaid, and Fantasmic – a really neat firework/water effect show.
Of course we had to meet some more characters. Sophie and Sawyer met Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Plus Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc., and Lightening McQueen and Mater from Cars.
