Happy New Year from Phoenix! It was a heck of a road trip from Jamestown, TN to Phoenix, but we all managed to make it through. We moved into our new home in Tempe on New Years Eve and rang in the new year looking through Craigslist ads for furniture. Fun times!
December was quite a month for us. We spent more than 60 hours on the road with the kids and more than 15 hours in the air or at an airport. But it was all worth it, because we got to celebrate Christmas with both sides of the family.
Yesterday was the start of business as usual. Beth started her new job at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center. She is going to work four 10-hour shifts per week. The good news is she will have an extra day off every week. The bad news is her new job seems like they will be pretty busy. So (unlike in Florida) she will have to work a full day everyday.
The kids and I are set to start exploring our new home. This time we have the luxury of having my sister and her family near us. We are only about 15 minutes from their house. So we are looking forward to spending more time with them. I’m sure they will be able to suggest some cool things for us to do. Exploring new areas is the reason we are doing what we are doing!
