Fridays are one of our favorites days of the week here at camp.  It’s our day off!  Camp Chinqueka is great, but it is always nice to get a break and get away for a while.  Friday we decided to take a small day trip to Hammonasset Beach State Park.  It is a small state park on the coast of Connecticut.

Sophia and Sawyer really like playing in sand and water, so we try and let them have fun on a beach whenever we have the chance.  I’m sure they would spend a whole day there if they could, but we had to limit them to a few hours.

Sawyer managed to get himself buried in the sand again.

After we drove back to camp, we had a little down time before going to the movies.  Monsters Inc. is a family favorite, so we have all been waiting to see Monsters University.

Week three has been a good week of camp.  The week started off with a big change over day.  We said goodbye to lots of campers and hello to even more.  The kids who were staying till the next session got treated to a trip to Lake Compounce, a local amusement park/water park.  Katie was going to take on the task of watching over Sophia and Sawyer throughout the park, but Sophie decided she would tag along with the Cabin 1 kids.  From what I heard, the kids had fun.

Otherwise it was a pretty typical week of camp.  We had a social with the boys camp, played lots of camp games, Sophie mad a ton of Arts & Crafts projects, Sawyer was busy being chased by little girls, I did a lot of driving, and Beth fixed a lot of girls medical issues.
