Next stop is Denver, plus one new family member!

One of the traditions at camp is spreading the candlelight. It symbolizes how one person's spirit can spread to others.

Unfortunately our summer camp has official come to an end.  All of the kids are gone and we are busy cleaning and packing before we leave on Wednesday.  Up until now we haven’t had a final destination in place.  But I’m glad to say we finally know we are going.  The Kelley’s are headed to Denver, Colorado!

Colorado has always been one of mine and Beth’s favorite places in the United States.  The plan is to start there on Tuesday, September 3rd and finish sometime around Christmas.  I’m sure by the time we leave in December, it will be pretty snowy, but we are very much looking forward to spending the fall in the Rocky Mountains.

On a different note, I am excited to announce we will be having some company with us for the foreseeable future.  This whole summer, we have had a nanny watching Sawyer and Sophia while she wasn’t at camp.  We were very lucky that Katie immediately fit right in with our family.

We are very lucky Katie "Nana" has decided she wants to stay and travel with us for a while!

Well, it turns out Katie has a “gap year” at her university in London.  She was looking into coming back to the United States to work with a family and watch some kids.  What started out as kind of joking that she should join up with us, turned serious.  Then we finally decided to just ask her to come and she accepted.

So Katie will be joining us on the road!  Of course this means I am going to go back to work.  I will have the not-so-fun task of finding temporary work everywhere I go.  While I’m not looking forward to the Monday through Friday grind of work, it will be nice to have a social life again!

I think Katie has the same traveling spirit that Beth and I both share, so we are very much looking forward to sharing our experiences with her.  For now we are headed back to Boston to say farewell to Beth’s family.  Then it’s down to my parents house in Tennessee before we head West.
